Hello!!!....By KrisSubmitted by Kris on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 19:21Hello...Ciao!!!!!!!!Ciaooooooooo......I'm Italian and I'm from Naples, Firefox 3 problemsSubmitted by maestro on Sat, 11/08/2008 - 06:25I ran into some problems using Firefox 3.x with Drumbox which others may be running in to:
1) Firefox crashes on Windows - I upgraded java to the current release (1.6.10) and that problem went away, previously I had 1.6.007 installed. You can test your Java version and download the latest here. 2) Some issues which caused saved drum tracks to not be loaded, fixed (I think) on our end. Too Old To Rock and Roll? That trust issueSubmitted by maestro on Sat, 08/30/2008 - 17:13A while back I posted this note about security letting you know that at some point the JamSpace music toys will start asking you for permission. Well, that time has come now that DrumBox has the ability to save your project as a standard MIDI file. When you first enter the DrumBox page your browser may ask see a security message, if you deny access that's okay, DrumBox will still work but you will not be able to save files on your local computer.
Welcome Calypso SoldiersSubmitted by maestro on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 15:34Thanks for the great tracks, this is just the sort of funky stuff that I love. Hope to hear you live someday, let me know if you make it out west!
Cheers, Jasmin previewSubmitted by maestro on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 06:58See a partially functional preview of Jasmin, the next generation musical environment under development at JamSpace (requires Java).

Let me know if there are other instruments or tuners you would like to have added.<br /> Gee, it worked a second ago...Submitted by maestro on Mon, 07/14/2008 - 21:16The software on this site is being updated several times a day (OK, mostly at night in the -0700 time zone ;) ) so things can be a bit, errr, shaky. Hopefully the overall trend is towards more stability but you may find that something was working and now you're getting weird Java errors or other such nonsense. I appreciate your understanding as JamSpace goes through some growing pains and if something isn't working please try again a little bit later, or better still write a brief report in the forum to let me know what's
Drumbox - Now with *MORE* Java!Submitted by maestro on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 16:54The most recent update to Drumbox marks a significant milestone in that it is no longer reliant upon the jamspace.com server to generate the MIDI files and no longer uses a browser plugin (e.g. QuickTime or Windows Media Player) to play back your tracks. What this means is:
DrumBox - Now with Java!Submitted by maestro on Fri, 07/11/2008 - 04:36As promised, the very first Java enhancement has landed! With the addition of a small Java program (applet) DrumBox is now able to play MIDI sounds in realtime. Java is turned off by default, it is enabled by checking the checkbox in the control panel below the grid. Once Java is enabled you can hear the drum sounds by dragging your mouse over the list of drums. Also when you create or move a note you will hear its sound. In order for this to work you must have Java installed an enabled on your computer, if you don't know you can » Getting ready for JavaSubmitted by maestro on Fri, 07/11/2008 - 01:31Starting in the next few days JamSpace will be adding musical tools written in Java. These free tools will run right in your browser and will begin with some simple MIDI widgets as we work our way towards more sophisticated tools to record, arrange and share MIDI and sampled audio formats. It's gonna be fun, and all you need to do is make sure that you have Java running on your computer. In order to help with this I've uploaded the first basic Java test to get you started.
Problems saving DrumBox tracks?Submitted by maestro on Wed, 07/09/2008 - 23:15There are a number of empty DrumBox tracks showing up which makes me suspect a problem with the software. Please drop me a note if you are not able to save your project so I can work to resolve it.
Thanks, Drumbox can import MIDI filesSubmitted by maestro on Sun, 07/06/2008 - 21:53This is a new feature under development for DrumBox! You can now import standard MIDI files into DrumBox and tweak them using the DrumBox interface. You can then save your project and/or download it as a standard MIDI file. This feature is still in development, no docs yet, but here's the basic how-to:
DrumSong: New Music Tool Added!Submitted by maestro on Sun, 07/06/2008 - 01:11DrumSong extends the capabiilties of DrumBox by allowing you to string together multiple drum patterns to create an entire song. Documentation is on the way but feel free to give it a try in the meantime (you must be logged in to create your own songs, unlogged in users may play with existing songs but not save the changes). This is a brand spanking new feature so I'd be grateful to hear about any problems you encounter.
Thanks, |
