Do you trust JamSpace ?

In the weeks and months ahead I will be adding a collection of musical toys and tools that are written in Java and will run in your browser as an applet. Some of the more exciting applets in the works will enable you to import, record, edit, mix and mixdown your music. In order for these advanced capabilities to work they will need permission to read and sometimes write files on your computer. The same is true for programs like iTunes, Winamp, Audacity, RealPlayer and so forth, the main difference being that the JamSpace tools will run from a browser page instead of you having to install them on your computer.
So fairly soon you may be noticing some browser popups asking you if you want to grant permission to some of our applets. If you choose 'no' then you will still be able to use the functions that don't require extra permission but you will not have access to the advanced features that require it. I will post more information about how and why certain JamSpace applets might want to read and write files on your computer. For now just consider this a heads up :) Cheers, |
